Elise ZiYuan Wang is a product & brand designer, artist, writer and aspiring polymath based in Toronto.
On bridge-building.
I like product design for its interdisciplinary, empathetic and systematic approach to problem-solving. I thrive in the strategic ‘big picture’ and atomic details alike — balancing business, user & technical needs in collaborative research & design.
I believe there is much to be discovered at the intersections of arts, social sciences, STEM and business. One of my life goals is to be a polymath so that I can help bridge disparate domains and find new ways of seeing and addressing the systemic issues of our world.
How my colleagues describe me…
China ✈ Singapore ✈ the 6ix.
I first encountered ‘user experience’ in a Human Factors course while studying interior architecture. After switching to visual communication design, I took an interest in UX as a freelance user tester and eventually found myself on the other side.
Beside digital product design, I offer freelance services in branding, art & illustration, copywriting & editing, resume & portfolio review, and creative consultation.
Outside work, I enjoy planning workshops & arts events for friends, reading & writing, making art, singing & dancing, researching desserts (and making my own), having deep conversations and learning new skills from my ever-growing list of hobbies.
